Interview in The Telegraph – Vocal Technique, Body, and Voice Development
Press & Media Appearance
I was interviewed by The Telegraph, one of the United Kingdom’s leading national newspapers, for an article exploring how significant weight changes can influence the singing voice — particularly within professional vocal performance and opera.
Based in London, I work with singers and voice professionals across England and the wider UK, where changes in physical condition often require careful technical adjustment, refined breath coordination, and a deep understanding of vocal mechanics.
The interview reflects professional insights into how the body directly shapes vocal production, resonance, and tonal development — a subject especially relevant for singers undergoing physical or technical transformation.
In sharing my own experience, I reflected on how my voice evolved as my body changed:
The following excerpts reflect key observations discussed in the interview:
“At one point, I realised it was no longer the same voice I had known — and that I needed to discover a new technique.”
Physically, the voice is deeply connected to the body. As I explained:
“The colour, resonance, and vibration of the voice are shaped by the body’s structure. When the body changes, so does the space that carries the sound — leading to new vocal qualities.”
There were also positive surprises:
“I found that vocal stamina improved. It felt as if the voice gained more freedom, and the journey gave me new insights into vocal technique.”
