Vocal Coaching Case Study – The Voice Kids UK Finalist (ITV Performance)
This case study demonstrates professional vocal coaching in London, showing how structured voice training prepares singers for high-level televised performances such as ITV’s The Voice Kids UK.
Although this performance took place in 2018, it remains a strong example of how long-term vocal training in London produces results at the highest level.
Coaching Yaroslav to The Voice Kids UK Final
I’m truly proud of the outstanding performance delivered by my longstanding pupil Yaroslav at the final of The Voice Kids 2018, broadcast on ITV on 21 August 2018.
Over the course of two years, I worked with him as his vocal coach and singing teacher, holding regular one-to-one sessions that combined vocal technique with expressive artistry. From the very beginning, Yaroslav showed exceptional promise — and through consistent weekly training, he flourished.
This result reflects the structured approach used in my professional vocal coaching sessions in London, where technical precision and performance readiness are developed together.
Reaching the final of such a major competition is no small feat, and his choice of Will.i.am as his mentor added another dimension to the experience.
I have no doubt this is just the beginning of his artistic journey.
Our lessons covered a wide repertoire — from classical and pop to German, Italian, English, and Neapolitan songs, eventually expanding into well-known operatic arias. The training was grounded in classical vocal tradition, incorporating Vaccai exercises and technical principles associated with singers such as Enrico Caruso, many of which are explored in a dedicated page of vocal technique books covering a wide range of styles, from classical tradition to contemporary and jazz approaches, supporting the development of vocal discipline, expressive storytelling, and reliable performance under pressure.
